Coronavirus Update
With the progression of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Genesis are doing everything, if anything, we can to help reduce the spread of the virus. We wanted to update you on the actions we have been taking to support our students.
What are Genesis Martial Arts doing?
The safety of our students and instructors is always our top priority. We are monitoring the situation closely and following the latest advice from the UK Government. To protect your safety we are taking the following actions:
We will, on a temporary basis, no longer be using equipment in classes that is shared between students such as kick shields / body shields as they have a risk of sweat being left on them from the previous person holding them. If there are any pieces of equipment that intructors use for students to strike they will be sprayed / wiped down before and after each session.
Instructors are being reminded of the importance of maintaining good hand hygiene in line with advice from Public Health England.
What should parents & students do?
While we’re doing all that we can to keep our students safe, parents and students are asked to follow these guidelines.
Please go / take your children to wash their hands with soap and water before and after class for at least 20 seconds.
If you don’t have access to soap and water, use hand sanitiser
Please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
Please put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards.
Please avoid sharing equipment such as gloves, focus mitts or head guards with other students.
Please avoid sharing water bottles with friends.
Please bring a towel with you to wipe away any sweat from yourself during drink breaks.
If you feel unwell with coughs, runny noises or an elevated temperature please rest at home and not attend classes.
All Genesis Instructors have been advised that any students who do attend class presenting any of the symptoms above should be sent home as a precaution.

For the moment, class’s will continue as normal however, we are constantly monitoring the situation and if this changes, we will provide you with an update via our Facebook group Genesis High Wycombe HQ and email.
