Tag grading courses
Tag grading courses are designed to enable students to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Genesis Martial Arts Syllabus from white belt up to and inclusive of black belt to a high technical standard.
To demonstrate the ability to perform the above remaining focused whilst under severe physical and mental stress.
To demonstrate an understanding of self-respect and respect for others.
The minimum training time for a student wishing to take either their brown white stipe of black belt is 1 year from the date of certification of the respective previous belts.
Before being able to grade, students must attend and pass three tag belt courses. The reason for attending each course is to cover the Genesis syllabus in detail and for each student to be monitored, assessed and given feedback on their progress.
Tags are awarded at the completion of each course to students who have performed satisfactorily. This will ensure that any student who has gained 3 tags should be technically ready to take either their brown belt white stripe or Black belt.
Due to the physical nature of the 1st Dan black belt grade, students having successfully gained 3 black tags will be applicable to take their 1st dan black belt grading. However this does not by any means ensure that a student will pass their black belt test and further investment in specific fitness training is advised.
Courses 1 to 3 cover different elements of the black belt syllabus so students will need to attend and pass each course separately. In the event that a student is unable to attend a single course or fails any element of courses 1 – 3 they will have the opportunity to gain a single final tag at tag course 4. Students are unlikely to be awarded any more than 1 tag at tag course 4.
If students pass courses 1- 3 without incident it is still advised that they attend course 4 for further preparation even they would not require a final tag.
